Reavana, Executioner of the Damned

Weapon (Gunblade), Artifact (requires attunement by Felix Burkheart)

Striving to reach new heights, the best dwarven and elven engineers joined forces to create something never seen before. Using the finest elven steel along with the dwarves’ refined firearm craftsmanship, Reavana was brought into existence. Unfortunately, arguments about credit for Reavana’s creation resulted in it being the only one ever made.

Might of the Infusion

Old

While wielding Reavana, you have a +2 to your spell save DC and your spell attack rolls.

New

While wielding Reavana, it functions as your spellcasting focus and grants you a bonus to your spell save DC and your spell attack rolls equal to your proficiency bonus .

A Novel Construction

Reavana is the only one of its kind. In addition to being a spellcasting focus for you, it can also function as a sword and a firearm. You use your dexterity modifier for weapon attacks made with Reavana.

When used as a sword, it deals 1d12 + dexterity modifier slashing damage

When used as a firearm, it deals 1d10 + dexterity modifier piercing damage

Old

Reavana uses special bullets (4g per 20), has 60/240 range, and can fire 6 bullets before reloading. On your turn, you may use a bonus action to reload Reavana if its chamber is not full.

New

Reavana has 60/240 range and reloads itself automagically, requiring no physical bullets.

After dealing damage with a spell, you may immediately follow it up with a firearm shot from Reavana (no action required) against one of the targets you dealt damage to. You make a new attack roll for this attack.

One in the Chamber

Every time you cast a leveled spell, Reavana gains a number of stacks equal to the level of the spell. When you make a successful ranged weapon attack with Reavana, you may choose to spend your stacks and deal an additional d6 fire damage for every stack. Your stacks get reset to 0 after taking a short rest. You may only use this feature once per long rest.

Arcane Shot Level 2

Old

When you complete a long rest you can store one of your artificer spells of level 2 or lower you know into Reavana by casting it using one of your spell slots and expending any necessary components. As a bonus action, you can fire the spell from Reavana as if it were a bullet without expending a spell slot and ignoring any verbal, somatic, or material components. Treat the range of a spell fired this way as the same range as Reavana’s gunshot. You can cast another spell normally using your action on the same turn you use this feature.

New

When you complete a long rest, you can inscribe a spell from the artificer or wizard spell list into Reavana. You may fire the spell from Reavana using whatever action the spell requires. You must have the material components for the spell, but do not require any verbal or somatic components. If the spell has a range of touch or less range than Reavana, it gains Reavana's firearm range.

The spell you select can be of a level up to 3 + your proficiency bonus. You must have some knowledge of spells you select (studying them, witnessing them repeatedly, etc.).

Reavana can only have one spell inscribed at a time and firing the spell removes the inscription.

Soul Harvest (New / Rework)

Reavana can reap the souls of dead creatures, making them your servants in death. If you or an ally slays a creature, you may attempt a ritual that takes 5 minutes to resurrect their soul. The creature cannot be an undead or a construct, and you must harvest their soul within an hour of their death.

To succeed you must pass a Spellcasting check with a DC depending on the creature. Upon a success you summon an undead version of the creature. You may make 3 attempts at this ritual before the creature's soul is no longer valid. The DM will provide you a stat block for this creature that is of a CR equal to the creature's original CR up to a maximum of half your level.

You can dismiss a servant into a pocket dimension provided by Reavana. You can have a number of undead servants in the pocket dimension equal to half your proficiency bonus rounded down, but only one may ever be active. To summon or dismiss a servant you must use a bonus action (you may also do both in the same action). The servant appears at an unoccupied location you can see within 30 feet of you.

If you attempt to obtain a new servant while at your maximum allotted, you can choose one of your previous ones to release.

In combat, your servants take their turn immediately after yours. When a servant is reduced to 0 hit points, they are immediately returned to the pocket dimension. All of your servants restore their hit points when you take a long rest.
